Honoring

State Senator Maria Elena Durazo, 26th district

For her leadership in the State of California on issues of social justice, including the "Home is Sacred" Campaign in partnership with LA Voice and PICO CA, which led to the passage of the Homelessness Prevention Act (SB567).

Barbara Busse (posthumous)

For her leadership in higher education and service on the Dolores Mission School Board for 16 years. As Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication at LMU, she started the Summer Arts Workshop, a week-long art therapy-based camp that enriched the lives of numerous students, including many from Dolores Mission School.

Camino Seguro Program Volunteers, past and present

For their care and dedication for the safety of all children in Boyle Heights. Begun in the 1990's, it was started by a group of community members concerned about rising crime in the neighborhood. Since then, volunteers continue to provide safe passage for children every day to and from school, including at Dolores Mission.
