Gifts may be given in memory of Danny Fontenot.
Danny Fontenot was a cherished member of the chemical engineering family. He worked for the Cain Department of Chemical Engineering for more than 20 years. He was a dedicated staff member who rarely took a day off. Over the years, his dedication served thousands of students and faculty inside, and outside, of the department. Danny was born in Germany and was adopted by his parents, Danny Sr. and Louise Fontenot, who brought him to Louisiana at a young age. Danny loved Louisiana and was an avid LSU sports fan. He also loved to garden and was a member of the Baton Rouge Hibiscus Club. He was generous and kind, and he will be truly missed. This live oak endowment is a wonderful way to honor Danny's love for LSU and the outdoors.
If the endowment minimum of $4,000 is reached, an oak will be endowed in Danny's memory near the grounds of Patrick F. Taylor Hall. A plaque in memory of Danny will be placed at the base of the tree. If the endowment minimum is not reached, funds will be applied in Danny's memory toward the Chemical Engineering Development Fund.
