WHAT IS CHUNKIN' PUMPKINS?

A free family friendly outdoor festival event created 10 years ago by Captain's Quarters to raise money for metastatic breast cancer research. This event features 3 Trebuchets (catapults) launching 6-12 lb pumpkins 100+ yards into the Ohio River. Each pumpkin is "sponsored" by a spectator via a donation and if their pumpkin hits a floating target, they are rewarded with a gift certificate from a supporting local restaurant. Also featuring live music, spirit sample, live music, face painting, a shopping boutique and much more! Over the past 10 years, this event has provided over $125,000 in donations to support MBC research. 100% of proceeds raised during this event will go to 2 local organizations, Twisted Pink and Hope Scarves. These grass-roots organizations in Louisville, KY have had a world-wide impact on MBC research through direct funding to research centers that are truly making amazing strides in prolonging the lives of women living with metastatic breast cancer. Our goal for 2024 is $50,000.00!
