Doug Rice's original oil painting of Stonington Lighthouse was created for the show "Lighting the Way," a collaboration with the Stonington Historical Society & La Grua Center.

Artist Bio

R. Douglass Rice, has been a painter and sculptor for over forty years. He currently lives in Stonington and his work is exhibited in numerous regional galleries, museums, parks and estates. His work is also in private collections in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Connecticut, New England and Sweden.

He was recently elected as an Exhibiting Artist Member of the National Arts Club where he has had two exhibitions. Rice was a board member of the Bronx Museum of the Arts for ten years, served as its Chair from 2009 until 2013, and is now its Chair Emeritus. He is also an elected Artist of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Mystic Museum of Arts and the Artist League of Rhode Island.
