The idea of an annual celebration of the people we serve goes back to the very early days of our
organization. In the 1950's family and board members saw the need to come together once a
year to elect trustees and officers and to celebrate the successes of the year. Many decades
have passed, and the dinner has evolved from a pot-luck in a church basement to a celebration
with several hundred people in attendance. It's an evening when our program participants,
Board members, family members, community leaders and our generous donors come together
to celebrate Avenues' mission-to put aside old ideas about what is possible.
And of course - most important to our clients - the opportunity to dance.
The Avenues to Independence Annual Dinner and Dance is back in 2023!
This year's event will take place on Friday, June 9 at Allgauer's/Hilton Northbrook. We are excited
about the opportunity to be back together in person once again!
The Annual Dinner is our most beloved event of the year. It provides an opportunity to bring all of our program participants together with the family of Avenues which gives people a chance to connect,
celebrate and thank our supporters for their belief in our clients and the the work that we do at
Avenues. Sponsorship support ensures a wonderful evening for our clients and, after all, it's
their night!
