Visit NCMT's Retired Horses at Camp Rusk Ranch

Spend time with Sienna, Jasper, Shadow, CJ, Cina, Splish, Tico and Pearl

A family of up to 2 Adults and 2 children will visit both Camp Rusk and Camp Rusk Foundation ranches - residence to NCMT retired horses.

The historic ranches encompass the area's history from the Republic of Texas through the Civil War and into the current transition to serve Therapy Horse Centers. The location was both a training site for Civil War soldiers and the local reading of General Order Number 3 which ended slavery. The guest house is understood to be on the site of the reading.

The area is known for excellent fishing. The ranches are pleasant for hiking. Of course, the main purpose of your visit will be as an ambassador for NCMT to understand their horse's lives during retirement.

Camp Rusk is an authentic family ranch of simple style with functional accommodations.

The Adventure Includes:

  • 3 nights stay.
  • Transport and return to the airport if applicable.
  • All meals including ranch raised beef steaks and burgers if wished..
  • Ranch activities at the time of visit (Teeth Floats, Feedings, Sorting, etc.
  • Circulating among family herds of horses as they go about their day.
  • Tours to match relevant interests.
  • Dates Mutually Agreed Upon with Owner. Trip Completed by 5/19/2024

The Guest House is simple, en-suite, and of modern construction.

There are two moderate sized rooms each with one queen and twin bed.

Note that all visitors on Texas Ranches and for horse activities are responsible for their own safety.
