Some exciting things happening at the Academy of St. Louis this year:
Maintained a 3-1 Teacher to Student Ratio in all classes, while increasing enrollment by 39%
Hired a full-time Transition Coach and partnered with the University of Missouri, KC to educate our staff using their framework to help organize each child's ideas, vision, and goals.
Utilized the iSocial Curriculum developed by the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment at the University of Missouri.
Developed a daily curriculum for Social Skills using the methodology created by Michelle Garcia Winner and Dr. Pamela Crooke. This Social Thinking provides evidence-based strategies to help children develop their social competencies and improve their executive functioning and much more.
Continued our partnership with St. Louis University Doisy College of Health Services to provide individual and group Speech and Language Therapy to students 2x a week.
Hired a full-time behavior support specialist to assist students and staff using a Trauma-Informed approach.
Hired additional instructors for students who have the propensity to excel in math and language arts preparing them for college/tech entrance tests.
