Meet Charles and Dianne Rentmeester - Keynote Speakers

Charles and Dianne Rentmeester were enjoying their retirement by traveling, running their eBay small business and going to their cabin on the Peshtigo River when their lives dramatically changed on July 13, 2021. Chuck was riding his motorcycle just over the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge when he had an accident resulting in a severe traumatic brain injury. While originally not expected to live, Chuck spent five months in various hospitals and nursing and rehab facilities before coming home. He is relearning to feed himself, stand up, walk and talk. Dianne, a retired advertising director, has become his primary caregiver, learning how to meet his daily needs as well as support him with physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Chuck has been attending Curative Connections since September of 2022. One of his goals in Curative's Brain Rehab & Wellness program is to be able to communicate both verbally and non-verbally with the staff and his peers, and he has made significant improvements. Chuck and Dianne are very proud to be the 2024 Curative Connections Care Team of the Year, showing that teamwork can make a difference in recovery. They are very excited to tell their story at the 2024 Curative Connections Garden Gala.
