Enjoy a unique air museum experience at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum! Guests will enjoy access to the air museum, flight simulators, and get the most unique photo ops in jet cockpits!

PURPOSE

The Veterans Charity Ball is our Inaugural Gala that will provide essential funding for mission and operations for Houses For Warriors, a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) nonprofit in the State of Colorado.

Preventing Warrior Suicides that are due to homelessness and financial instability-
For warriors struggling with PTSD, TBI's, and other mental health issues, the return to civilian life can be extremely difficult. Many of the veterans ending up homeless are without the support they need to get back on their feet, The lack of financial stability combined with injuries and mental health needs, can lead to a downward spiral that often ends in addiction, depression and ultimately suicide. In fact, veteran suicide rates are alarmingly high, with an estimated 30+ veterans taking their own lives every day. Nearly one third of homeless men have served in the military, and over 40% of our veteran suicides experienced homelessness according to HUD.

Warrior House Homeless Transition Program-
We operate a 6 bedroom home in South Denver that sleeps up to 9 Warriors. We provide some home cooked meals, donated food, clothing, bedding, personal development classes, mentorship, financial classes, assistance obtaining benefits or job; and most importantly, a safe and caring environment to get back on their feet. Most of our Warriors just need a physical address and a safe place to keep their stuff to apply for their benefits, get jobs, and restart their lives with people who love and care about them. Help us help our warriors succeed!

Special Adaptive Housing & Essential Repairs Program-
With the hard work of our volunteer staff, volunteers, our contracting partners and the generous donations we receive from Homes For Veterans, our local Lowe's, Home Depots, and individual donors, we help our Warriors receive essential home repairs and special adaptive upgrades that increase accessibility in the home. We remove barriers for warriors and their family members using wheelchairs- like swapping carpet for wood plank flooring, changing a floating sink, or building ramps. Since we launched this program in 2020, We have provided 2 full home remodels, provided essential repairs for 7 warrior's homes, and have done a collective half-a-million dollars in projects for our warriors!
