Long-Billed Curlew, Half-scale, carved from Bass wood

This Long-Billed Curlew was hand carved to half-scale by conservation easement owner and long time EIOLT supporter Roy Smoak. It stands approximately 7in tall including its base.

All Roy's carving are made from American Basswood sourced in the Pocono Mountains. The fine details are carved with a hot knife, a skill that he has honed during his fifty years of wood carving. Roy's carvings have sold for thousands of dollars, and the one time he got talked into entering his work into a judged show, he entered the World Waterfowl Carving Competition, at which his green heron won the judges' favor as an honorable mention.

Item is too fragile to ship. Winning bidder must pick up at the EIOLT office starting Tuesday, June 21st from 10am - 4pm, Monday thru Friday. All items must be picked up within 30 days.
