SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE INTERROBANG THEATRE PROJECT in 2022

Fall 2022

  • World Premiere of GENTLE MEN* (*working title) by Award-Winning Playwright Emily Schwend
  • Synopsis: Jess is back in her childhood home trying to help her father, Roger, deal with the aftermath of her stepmother's untimely death, but it's been years since they've had any real connection. With Carol gone, can these two find a way back to each other or will her death only widen the chasm?

Winter 2023

  • Workshop Production of NUCLEAR GALAXY by Season 12 Playwriting Initiative Fellow Camilla Dwyer
  • Synopsis: Welcome to Anywhere USA, where the war is finally over, the white picket fences are pristine, and a strange young girl has just crash landed on the porch of one of the resident couples. As these two new moms struggle to learn how to take care of their rapidly growing daughter, they come face-to-face with stranger things than the atomic weather raging outside of their home. Can they catch on to raising a headstrong teenager? Or will the experience just leave them shell-shocked? Nuclear Galaxy is being developed as part of our Playwriting Initiative program in partnership with The Theatre School at DePaul University.

Spring 2023

  • Synopsis: A one creature oceanic meditation on home and exile at the edge of the continental shelf, between a 12-year-old girl and a 500-year-old Greenland shark.

About Interrobang Theatre Project

Interrobang Theatre Project (ITP) produces visceral and timely works, rarely produced texts, and new American plays. We strive to excite a new generation of theatergoers, to engage our community through challenging plays, to maintain an environment in which artists can do their very best work, and to change our world one play at a time. ITP is not recommended for audiences who prefer theatre to be benign or familiar.

Interrobang Theatre Project is also proud to be in residence at Rivendell Theatre, located at 5779 N Ridge Ave in the Edgewater neighborhood.
