Forged and fabricated bronze with brass pin needle. TIG welded - not soldered.

About the Artist

John Medwedeff, a full-time artist blacksmith, has been producing site-specific public sculpture, sculptural fountains, architectural ironwork, and furniture for over 30 years. At 19 he began a three-year blacksmithing apprenticeship with Jim Wallace at the Metal Museum, and afterward earned his MFA in blacksmithing from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He opened Medwedeff Forge & Design in 1988. Concurrent with his studio work, John has curated exhibitions, taught sculpture and blacksmithing workshops at numerous craft schools, and lectured at universities and symposia across the country. Recent commissions include "Azimuth", a monumental stainless steel sculpture for the Roger Ogden Honors College at LSU, Baton Rouge, LA and the PGA FedEx St. Jude trophies.
