Benefiting Next Step Clubhouse
The purpose of the Next Step-A-Thon is to raise the funds necessary to operate the Recreational Day, School Day Out, and Summer Programs that Next Step Clubhouse (NSC) offers to individuals with disabilities in our community.
So what is this Next Step A Thon?
The Next Step A Thon is a combination of a traditional walk-a-thon and a 5K and we would be honored if you would consider participating in this special event. Unlike traditional events, this year is virtual so you can walk/run your event on your own course on a day & time that works for you any time between NOW and October 9th! There are 3 different ways you can make a direct impact! You can be an Individual Stepper, you can be a team Stepper, or you can be a V5K-er.
As a 'Stepper' (individually or on a team) your job is to set a Step Goal, ask friends and family to sponsor ONE PENNY PER STEP taken in the event, take your steps, and send in your results.

All Steppers, V5K-ers, and sponsors are encouraged to check out the event website's silent auction packages, raffles, and items for sale with the goal of raising as funds to support Next Step Clubhouse.
In an effort to keep expenses down, NEXT STEP CLUBHOUSE has changed how we are doing event t-shirts this year. Event t-shirts will be ordered on Monday, October 11th so we don't end up with more shirts than what we need. Also, some people have asked if they can skip the event t-shirt so more more money goes to the organization. SO....... you will have an option to tell us to 'Save the $ and don't give me a t-shirt' on the ticket order form.

Your individual / team fundraising page allows you to share your story and set a goal. The funds you raise will help make our mission a reality! Your CHAMPION's PAGE is where your sponsors will donate the penny per step they've pledged.
To create: Click the My Info link or click Go to Fundraising Page after you complete setting up your account. Click Edit Fundraising Page. Edit your Page Title or Goal, Add a Champion Image, Edit content (Share your story) then Click Request Approval. Once approved, you'll receive an email letting you know your page is approved and ready to share.
Walk WITH us!
Our clubhouse members and those of you who want to join us in person, will be meeting at our Clubhouse on Saturday October 9, 2021 to get our steps in as a group. Plan on meeting at 9:00 AM in the FUMC's rear parking lot. After our steps completed, we will be hanging out listening to music, playing games, throwing bags, painting faces, and generally having a blast! WE"D LOVE FOR YOU TO JOIN US!!!
Our path will be around the block at least. Please note that we will not be crossing streets and the course is not ideal for those wanting to run 5k.

Next Step Clubhouse is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit (EIN# 47-4543180) and a registered NC Charity (SL010809). Our mission is to serve teens and adults with disabilities. Donations received through the Next Step A Thon help us fulfil our mission. All Step Sponsorships (i.e. donation) for this event are one penny per step. The following is to give you an idea of some typical step counts:
$100 = 10,000 steps or approximately 5 miles.
$50 = 5,000 steps or approximately 2.5 miles.
$40 = 4,000 steps or approximately 2 miles.
$20 = 2,000 steps or approximately 1 mile.
$10 = 1,000 steps or approximately 1/2 mile.
Please feel free to place a maximum step sponsorship. Otherwise, someone may try to step 100,000 steps (50 miles) so you make a $1,000 donation to a great mission....
