Benefitting Beaches Habitat for Humanity
In the Jacksonville Beaches, it is nearly impossible for a family earning a modest income to afford a home. People who serve as an essential workforce here at the beach, like grocery store clerks, nursing assistants, and childcare providers, find it increasingly difficult to provide a secure and stable home for their families. Our community's elderly population is also vulnerable, often struggling to remain in their homes as maintenance becomes more challenging and limits to their mobility make navigating their own home more difficult.
In the last 30 years, Beaches Habitat has built more than 350 new homes and renovated or repaired more than 70 homes in the Jacksonville Beaches communities. As a result, the families we serve have access to safe, decent housing that would otherwise be out of reach, along with educational opportunities that will forever change their lives and futures. Our Senior Repair Program addresses health and safety issues so that seniors may remain in their homes.
Right now, Beaches Habitat is the only homebuilder in the Jacksonville Beaches providing opportunities for low-income families to buy a home at a price they can afford. As a local organization, we rely on you, our community, to support our programs. The gift you make to Beaches Habitat will stay close to home, with home construction and repairs focused on your friends and neighbors within the beaches.
We are dedicated to empowerment, not entitlement. Families who are approved for our program work alongside staff and volunteers on the construction site and also attend classes so that they can prepare for homeownership. Thank you for joining them and us as we work together to build homes, community, and hope.
