Did you know workforce readiness is a critical need for the people Homeboy Industries works with? Homeboy Industries trains, provides classes, and helps facilitate licensing and certification for members of our 18-Month Re-entry Program. From helping to train the next generation of solar installers, future managers, truck drivers, homeless outreach workers, welders, electricians, construction workers, office workers, caterers or food service and retail employees just to name a few. Your support can help as many as 30 people as they seek their first jobs.

Your donation of $10,000 can help support Emergency Funding. 

Did you know that the everyday challenges of life can derail a member of the Homeboy Industries family as they are on their path to change? Our Transition Support Fund provides hope for those in our community who are beginning their journey with us. When emergencies happen like a parent passes away, or emergency housing is needed, or a dress is needed for an interview, or food is needed before a first paycheck comes, or supplies are needed for a newborn, Homeboy Industries helps to provide support to keep members of our community focused on the health, education, and workforce training they need. In the past year, this fund has been more important than ever as our community has navigated the challenges of the pandemic. 

Your donation of $5,000 can help support Youth Re-entry. 

Did you know all justice involved youth in LA County come from families of poverty and a majority are youth of color? Our newly launched Youth Re-entry Center helps with enrolling youth in school, finding court-mandated parenting or domestic violence classes, removing holds on driver's licenses, accessing mental health services, nutritional support, and much more. This safe space serves youth ages 14 - 21 and works with high-risk gang- and systems-impacted youth. Perhaps, most importantly, your support will provide opportunities for youth to be kids for the first time in their life. Youth will have a chance to go on trips to off-site locations like the LA Zoo, Griffith Observatory, the beach, and the California Science Center.

Your donation of $2,500 can help support Education. 

Did you know that the lack of educational certification can hinder the success of an individual? Each day at Homeboy Industries, members of our community are in classes, participating in study sessions, being tutored online, and after all their hard work, receiving GEDs. Homeboy Industries' intensive, one on one, customized educational engagement provides students their best chance for success. Your support helps make this possible, as well as pays for all fees associated with testing for their GED. The Pathways to College program supports our community as they advance their education and careers through higher education, breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty and violence. We launched this program recognizing that this population, most of whom are first-generation college students, face unique challenges to enrolling, persisting, and graduating from college. Your support will also help the forty students enrolled and currently taking classes for their Twilight High School diploma as they work or parent.

Your donation of $1,000 can help support COVID response.

In response to the pandemic in March, 2020 the Homegirl café and catering department transformed their kitchen to prepare and deliver healthy packaged meals throughout LA County. This new social enterprise, Feed HOPE, is a win-win for those who need jobs and those who need food. To date, over half a million meals have been delivered.

Our Homeboy team has been on the front-lines providing personal protection equipment (PPE), on-site vaccination clinics, and educating our community on COVID-19 safety measures. Your support will enable us to continue to feed the food insecure in our community and provide thousands of pieces of PPE to members who would otherwise be unsafe.

Your donation of $500 can help support the Art Academy.

Did you know that art can be a valuable tool for healing? An entry point to Homeboy Industries is the newly formed Homeboy Art Academy, Somos LA Arte. The Art Academy seeks to utilize the power of creativity to process life experiences and unleash cultural knowledge. Your support helps as we heal the complex traumas experienced by formerly incarcerated, gang involved youth and adults through an artistic healing model. We hope to grow this burgeoning program with additional youth art navigators and create a space for career development in the arts.
