Do you like sloths? How about a cute fennic fox? Are you looking to give your kids a hands-on experience with animals that you can't just buy anywhere? Embark on a special behind-the-scenes zoo tour, courtesy of Zoo New England! Your guide will take you to parts of Franklin Park Zoo or Stone Zoo that the public does not have access to! You will see and learn about how the Zoo operates and all that it takes to keep the animals happy and healthy. This tour will consist of three stops with animals that YOU choose from a list that the zoo will provide. (It's a longer list than what is posted for private tours on the Zoo website.)

Here's what is included in the package:

  • General admission to the Franklin Park Zoo or Stone Zoo
  • Private guided tour to behind-the-scenes areas of the zoo with three animals that are chosen by the winning bidder
  • Good for up to six guests (although some animal habitats can only accommodate up to four guests)

The animal holding areas are sensitive areas where guided tours must be done carefully and thoughtfully. This area is a sanctuary for the animals, and they often feel safest here. Any undue noise or activity can be disturbing. For these reasons, the following restrictions apply:

  • Guests must be at least 6 years old and be accompanied by an adult.
  • No more than six guests may go behind the scenes at one time.
  • Most behind-the-scenes areas have steps and other obstacles that cannot accommodate wheelchairs.
  • Service animals or therapy animals are not allowed in any behind-the-scenes areas.
  • Certain areas may require protective gear such as surgical masks and/or boots.
  • Videotaping and still photography behind the scenes is prohibited.
  • Tours require two weeks advanced notice.

This is an opportunity you will not want to miss out on!
