As a family, the Steinbrenners understand the importance of giving back to their community and lending support to individuals and organizations working to make the world a better place. From an early age, siblings George and Julia understood philanthropy to be less about the praise and more about the purpose as their Grandfather, George Steinbrenner, often said: "if you do something good for someone - and more than two people saw it - you did it for the wrong reason."
A FOCUS ON THE FUTURE
Working with children and individuals with special needs has always been a primary focus for Julia and George. As teenagers, both volunteered extensively in support children and community through organizations such as Boys and Girls Club and GiGi's Playhouse. The impact these organizations consistently deliver to those in need last well beyond the hours volunteered or resources donated in helping to ensure a better future for many individuals and families. Julia and George will continue to identify the right organizations to work with and support as the George4 Foundation expands its philanthropic efforts within Indianapolis, NTT INDYCAR Series race markets, New York City and beyond.
