Thank you for supporting family health and wellness in our community. Your partnership helps us promote independence and improve lives through care, education, and advocacy.

No act of generosity is too small to make a difference.

Independence Health & Therapy is McHenry County's leading wellness center, providing older adult day health and memory care programs; behavioral health services; and physical, occupational and speech therapy for all ages. Our programs are centered around improving lives through care, education, and advocacy.

Independence Health & Therapy programs include:

  • Adult Day Health and Memory Care, a community-based traditional day program. It offers social services, activities, peer support and individual care, while also following a medical model, utilizing skilled services from nurses, therapists, and others. IHT is the county's only provider of a dementia-specific program, which also includes caregiver education and support groups.
  • Behavioral Health services that care for those who are at risk of clinical depression, anxiety, and higher physical health needs. Our multidisciplinary team includes licensed clinical social workers, community support specialists and psychiatry services.
  • Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy, which serves all ages and conditions. More than 60% of clients are children under the age of 13, with a  myriad of different conditions and diagnoses, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and developmental and physical delays. Therapy programs also serve adult and senior clients for a wide range of conditions such as acquired disabilities, sports injuries and physical impairments associated with the aging process.

We accept all insurance types, offer services on a sliding scale, don't cap our Medicaid client base, and accept patients that can't get services elsewhere. We have two locations in Woodstock and serve all of McHenry County

Independence Health & Therapy is a 501(c)(3) organization and relies on generous support from both private and public funders.
