Ed! Award Honoring: Dr. Bill Watkins

This year Ed! is deeply honored to recognize a person that truly embodies "Dedication to Education". Dr. Bill Watkins has been a part of the El Segundo Public schools for over 50 years and has influenced thousands of students, alumni, parents, teachers and administrators. He has served as a teacher, as a principal and on the Board of Education.

Thank you Dr. Watkins for being a champion, an advocate and an educator here in El Segundo.

Why the Ed! Gala?

The Ed! Gala is the El Segundo Ed!ucation Foundation's main fundraiser of the year. This event alone raises almost 20% of the total yearly grant to the El Segundo Unified School District and is essential to the funding Ed! can provide. Ed! is the only El Segundo non-profit 501(c)(3) that can bridge the financial gap between programs the state can fund and the education El Segundo students need to have a complete and competitive education.
