Every day, we lose more veterans and first responders to suicide. Early intervention saves lives.
At Operation Freedom Paws, we empower veterans, first responders, and individuals with disabilities to train their own service dogs to recognize changes in their body chemistry and provide critical alerts-giving them the ability to act before a medical crisis escalates.
The holiday season is an especially difficult time for many veterans and first responders. It's a season when physical and psychological wounds can feel especially heavy. We remain fully committed to combating veteran and first responder suicide, and the life-saving impact of service dogs in this fight cannot be overstated.
Recent graduates of our program report a 69% decrease in suicidal ideations, demonstrating the profound importance of early intervention.
Your donation provides the training, resources, and mental health support these heroes need to manage trauma, regain independence, and deescalate medical emergencies. With your help, they will have a service dog by their side, empowering them to take control of their lives and health-all at no cost to them.
Donate Today. Your early intervention can be the act that saves a life.
OUR MISSION. OUR WHY.
Watch our client Steve's story of how early intervention-through his communication with his service dog Merlin-has helped him manage his medical condition and take control of his healing journey. Your support this Giving Tuesday not only helps Steve reclaim his life but also enables him to give back and empower others on their own paths to healing.
