Curry Senior Center Year-End Appeal and Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is on December 3rd, 2024!
Donations from November 1st until December 3rd will count towards our Giving Tuesday fundraising goal of $15,000!
Curry Senior Center is dedicated to helping low-income and homeless seniors through a holistic care approach. Many of the seniors that come to Curry rely on Curry for services such as health care, case management, socialization, housing, and meals to help them remain living independently. Your donation helps to make our mission possible and impacts the lives of aging adults in San Francisco.
- A $1,000 donation helps acquire tablets, iPads, and Fitbits for direct use by the seniors participating in Curry's Senior Vitality and Curry Technology Support Programs.
- A $500 donation provides funding for a range of classes and programs taught by Curry Senior Center staff. These classes often serve as the first empowering step for seniors, enabling them to make lifestyle changes, effectively manage chronic illnesses, gain proficiency in using technology, and navigate complex healthcare and housing systems independently, aligning with their preference for self-reliance.
- A $250 donation will fund invaluable one-on-one technology consultations for older adults, equipping them with the digital skills to connect with others and telehealth visits. Through tablets, smartphones, email, and the internet, they not only combat isolation but also manage chronic illnesses, and manage a healthy lifestyle.
- A $150 donation ensures the safety of older adults at Curry Senior Center as they connect with our staff and services. Your contribution supports essential measures like rides to appointments, regular check-ins by medical professionals, and escorts to and from their apartments, especially for those who may feel unsafe in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
- A $100 donation helps older adults facing food insecurity access fresh groceries for one month. Curry's grocery program provides healthy proteins, fresh produce, and staples like milk and rice to older adults in the Tenderloin who may lack access to grocery stores.
- A $50 donation plays a vital role in helping pay for transportation and companion services that guarantee that seniors arrive safely for their medical and other health appointments at Curry, Zuckerberg SF General Hospital, or specialty clinics.
- A $25 donation provides items like warm socks, umbrellas and rain ponchos for clients in need, especially during the colder months.
