Larry Bossidy

For more than two decades, Larry Bossidy has been a staunch supporter of the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport. He was the founding Board Chair when the educational institution was made up of 6 parochial elementary schools and known as the "Cathedral Education Cluster." He served in that role until 2008. Under his leadership, Bossidy helped grow enrollment, upgrade technology, launch an Endowment Fund to help provide scholarships and life-changing opportunities to inner-city students in need, and expand the Board to include a dynamic of dedicated, generous men and women. Bossidy is the former CEO of Honeywell and Allied Signal., and he lives in Ridgefield, CT and attends St. Mary's Church. He has 11 grown children and many grandchildren.. His beloved wife, Nancy, predeceased him in 2023.


Sr. Joan Magnetti, rscj

In 2010, Sr. Joan Magnetti became the Executive Director of the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport (initially known as the "Cathedral Education Cluster") after a successful careers as headmistress of Sacred Heart Greenwich and Stuart Country Day in Princeton, NJ. Under Magnetti's direction, the school became financially healthy and its own 501(c)(3). Magnetti has a passion for working with young people of all economic, cultural and faith backgrounds. She remains as a key member of CAB's staff in her role as Coordinator of Major Gifts. A sister in the Society of the Sacred Heart who grew up in New Jersey, Magnetti served as headmistress at Stuart Country Day School in Princeton, NJ for 13 years before going to Greenwich and then to Bridgeport. She currently lives in community in Bedford, NY and is a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. Magnetti sits on the Boards of Horizons SHU, Union Theological Seminary and Manhattanville College.

to provide scholarships to the 96% of its 900 inner-city students who qualify
