April 13th Open House, Glass Sale, and Hands-On Glass Experiences!
Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Samuel H. Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, April 13th for an afternoon of glass.
Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free! The SCC Glass Club's sale will feature handmade glass items including flowers, jewelry, vases, paperweights, and other glass gift items from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. While visiting the center, guests may tour the glass studios, view our glass collections, and watch glassmaking in action!
Also on April 13th, the glass center will be running several hands on workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. Hands on Glass Experiences!
Available Workshops on April 13th:
Fused Glass Garden Art*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm-2:00pm, or 2:30pm-4:00pm, $60.00 per person - Create your very own beautiful garden decoration! Participants will create their one-of-a-kind garden artwork by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln. Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Flameworked Glass Leaf Pendants (hanging focal beads), 3 hour session from 1pm-4pm, $60.00 per person - Spend a full three hours in our flameworking studio using glass, heat, gravity and simple tools to create your very own colorful glass leaf pendants at the torch! Each participant will have enough time to create multiple beads! Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Hot Glass Flower*, 1.5-hour sessions between 12:00pm-1:30pm, or 2:30pm-4pm, $50.00- Participants will create a glass flower from the furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made one-week prior to event are subject to a $15 cancellation fee per ticket. Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the workshop will be refunded half the registration fee per ticket. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice are non-refundable.
