An evening of community, celebration, and sharing in the mission of Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School!
Thank you to our incredible Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound community for supporting our annual Evening Expedition Gala. On October 30th, 2024, we hosted over 330 guests at the Fairmont Copley Plaza for an evening of celebration and connection in the mission of Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound. Whether you attended in person, bid remotely, or generously donated an item or experience to our auctions, it was inspiring to see this incredible community come together in support of our life-changing programs for Boston youth. Thanks to the outstanding generosity of Joan Durant, Womble Bond Dickinson, and many other corporate and table sponsors, we raised over $570,000 to benefit outdoor education and experiential learning for Boston students.

The North Star Award is our opportunity to recognize extraordinary service and philanthropic efforts on behalf of Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School and the community we serve. Named for the star that has guided mariners across oceans for centuries, this award represents the guiding light of strength, integrity, and leadership, and its recipients embody and model these characteristics for all to benefit from.
CSIOBS Trustee and Treasurer, Clifford Krauss, and his wife Ann Whittaker, have been that beacon, as an extraordinary example of volunteer leadership in service of the Boston community and Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School. Together, they are true champions of our mission, investing significant resources of time, expertise, and financial support.
