THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR 2024 GALA A HUGE SUCCESS!

Since 1974, DAWS has successfully rescued over 31,000 displaced animals from high-kill shelters and has helped countless more in our community. As we approach the final days of our shelter renovation project, our commitment to remaining a leading animal welfare provider has never wavered.

We have provided care for more than 2,000 animals in the past year. Our work included rescuing and rehoming 800 cats and dogs, providing 663 low-cost clinic services, increasing community outreach efforts, and continuing our TNR program to reduce animal overpopulation. Additionally, we completed 72 transports with our rescue partners, saving animals from being euthanized.

Join us as we honor 4 incredible DAWS supporters:

  • Sherri Delaney - A co-founder of DAWS, Sherri Delaney and her friend Anne Tracey started the organization in 1974. Sherri is being honored with the Founders Award for her visionary work in establishing DAWS and shaping its mission over the years.

  • Mary Ellen Sierra - One of DAWS' most cherished donors and long-time supporters, Mary Ellen will receive the Giving Heart Award for her ongoing dedication and generosity, which have made a lasting impact on the organization.

  • Marri Milcarek - Marri is the recipient of the Hero Award for adopting a special needs dog from DAWS who required above-and-beyond care. Her commitment to this animal exemplifies the spirit of compassion and dedication that DAWS strives to embody.

  • Julia Dimyan - A freshman in college, Julia led a highly successful donation drive at her high school in support of DAWS. She will receive the Future Leader Award for her outstanding efforts and inspiring initiative, demonstrating the power of youth involvement in animal welfare.

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of making a difference! We can't wait to celebrate with you!!
