Meet NaKayla English!
2024 State of Georgia Youth of the Year Winner
2023-2024 BGCGA Youth of the Year Winner
Lead. Succeed. Inspire.
Nakayla English is a recent graduate of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs for five years. She's an Honor Roll student and a recipient of the Presidents Education Award from Paine College. She served as President of Boys & Girls Clubs' Keystone Club and is an afterschool youth tutor. Nakayla has been accepted to more than 20 colleges, and has enrolled at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University to study biology. After her undergrad, Nakayla plans to go on to become a Physician's Assistant.
The Youth of the Year Program is Boys & Girls Clubs of America's signature character and leadership program. It celebrates youth (ages 14-18) who have overcome enormous odds and have demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments.
Those selected as finalists for the award at the local, state, regional and national level are recognized for service to their Club and communities, and are honored for their achievements in leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle.
