On Saturday, June 1, 2024, the Annual Ball celebrated research to treat, prevent, and cure digestive diseases. More than 570 guests enjoyed music from the Gold Coast Allstars and a stand-up performance by comedian Kevin Nealon. The evening's program featured a presentation to Sy Taxman by David T. Rubin, MD, with the Joseph B.? Kirsner Award.
Sy's remarks included two incredible announcements: a $500,000 gift from Sy and his wife Nancy, and a bill to award the Congressional Gold Medal to Joseph B. Kirsner. The program also featured speeches by Ball Co-Chairs, Amy Goldman and Jennifer Riback; Board President Kathy Shafer; Board Chairperson Katie Chudnovsky, and more. The live auction and paddle raise contributed to the $1.8+ million raised for digestive diseases research.
