Xander's journey at the Ronald McDonald House began in January of this year when he became septic. Xander was brought to Nationwide Children's Hospital by Life Flight on January 22nd. When 2 year old Xander arrived at NCH, he was in critical condition, fighting for his life as his septicemia was attacking not only his limbs but also his internal organs. This caused him to go into kidney and liver failure. In February, Xander's parents waited as their son had to have surgery with the hope of only needing to remove his left arm. However, very quickly into the surgery the difficult decision was made that not his left arm but also both of his legs would need to be amputated. Then one week later, Xander lost his right arm as well making him a quadruple amputee. Throughout the 90 days of staying at the Ronald McDonald House, Kayla and Alex, never lost hope that their precious son would make a full recovery

Donated By Xander is a miracle! He, his parents, and 4 year old sister Addy are heroic, courageous, and full of love and joy. His smile shines through in all that does, including in his art work!
