Course Description:
Quail Hollow Club has what is considered by many to be one of the finest courses in the United States.
The course was originally designed by famed golf course architect George Cobb in 1961 to capture the beauty as well as challenging terrain of the Piedmont region. In the intervening years; the course has undergone a series of improvements; including modifications to several holes by Arnold Palmer in 1986; a redesign by Tom Fazio in 1997 and modifications by Tom Fazio to several holes in the summer of 2016.
The par four 14th is a dogleg left that can be driven with a good tee shot. It measures 346 yards from the championship tees. A 15 acre lake frames the left side of the hole and the rough on that side slopes down to the water. The narrow landing area measures about 27 yards across and is guarded with two bunkers on each side. The two tiered green is long and narrow with about 7;100 square feet of putting surface. Two more bunkers guard the left front and middle of the green; and a collection area waits just off the right front of the green for short approach shots hit off line; or almost perfect drives. The area immediately left of the green slopes severely down to the lake; so shots hit left have a very good chance of ending up in the hazard.

Golf @ Myers Park CC
$435You and two guests (3 total) will accompany a Myers Park Country Club member for a round of golf and lunch at one of Charlotte's most prestigious golf courses. Round includes golf cart. Tee time subject to availability of both the accompanying club member and MPCC.
*Subject to Course Restrictions due to COVID-19 may apply.
Course Description:
Based on Donald Ross's 1945 layout; today's Myers Park Country Club is as close as ever to what Mr. Ross originally proposed in his own re-design of the club all those years ago. The golf course is a parkland layout with a variety of holes in terms of direction; length; and elevation change. The result is a great rhythm of holes which will always keep the golfer engaged. Where natural features do not interfere; openings to greens allow for either a ground approach or an aerial approach. This allows golfers as many options as possible to negotiate the defined quadrants within many of the putting surfaces in an attempt to gain the lowest score possible. Ross bunkering along the fairways and surrounding most greens demands strategic choices be made starting at the tee based upon the golfer's own appetite for risk and the location of the pin on any particular day. The name of the game is to negotiate these hazards as well as the natural roll of the land to gain an advantage in typical Donald Ross fashion. The golf course at Myers Park Country Club is the epitome of subtle strategic challenge that keeps the members attention from the first tee to the end of the round. In fact; the eighteenth hole is the ultimate climax as it simply asks the golfer to cut the corner over a pair of fairway bunkers to gain both a better angle into the green and a closer approach. All who decide to play safe will find an ample fairway of rumpled ground but still requiring an accurate approach. A great finish to a golf course whose strength lies in its variation of options for all.
