This painting is part of my recent series, Aural Vision - in which each piece is an abstract
interpretation of music. Like the other paintings in the series, this one is composed of vertical stripes, rendered with acrylic paint, on multiple wood panels (nine in this case).
The colors, along with the varied width and arrangement of the stripes, correspond roughly to the rhythms, harmonies, and timbres of the song-an ostensible R&B knockoff that sounds deceptively high gloss, with its lush vocal harmonies and meticulous arrangement. But it's a cagey tune in many ways: tuneful and bright, yet densely layered; bursting with eclectic influences and surprising musical choices, throughout the song and on multiple levelsââ'¬Â¦the song's boundless capacity to subvert expectations-especially when it comes to transitions and the mix, in which key elements retreat and engage in consistently unexpected ways-is a main force that catapults this clever ditty into the realm of art.
There is no obvious match between any elements of the painting and the music; it is not a symbolic work, but rather an improvisation, intended to convey the essence of the song.

Guided Snorkel Tour for Four

Each Snorkel Tour lasts around 90 mins and takes guests directly from the beach to the reef to maximize snorkeling time! You can see all kinds of tropical reef fish and If you keep your eyes peeled, you might even spot a green sea turtle or an eagle ray passing through the neighborhood!

You can dive down and find small, colorful reef fish on the structure or swim between the towers and get surrounded by large schools of small baitfish. It's not uncommon to see Bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, and Eagle rays in the vicinity of the reefs. Venture out deeper and you'll notice subtle differences in the fish and other creatures you're seeing. Swim out over the sand to get a wider view of the bait swarms. There's no limit to what you might discover during your tour!
