Whiskey and War Stories
December 07, 2023 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Join us for an epic evening of "Whiskey & War Stories," presented by the Light Foundation and Horse Soldier Bourbon -- graciously hosted by the Stockyard in Brighton, MA. Indulge in an exclusive whiskey tasting while immersing yourself in captivating war stories shared by one of the original Horse Soldiers, Scott Neil. A former Green Beret, Neil was part of a specialized direct-action unit assigned to infiltrate Afghanistan.
Prepare to embark on a captivating journey as Scott Neil recounts the early days of America's response to the 9/11 attacks, sharing gripping tales of the legendary Green Beret missions that served as the inspiration for the Hollywood blockbuster "12 Strong." Discover how this group of remarkable Green Berets returned home after their heroic service, determined to stay united and undertake a new venture that would benefit not only themselves but also their families. Following his time in the Army, Neil and several of his comrades started the American Freedom Distillery -- the makers of "Horse Soldier Bourbon" -- a nod to their dangerous combat mission on horseback. The spirit is decanted in bottles pressed in molds made from steel salvaged from the World Trade Center.
Neil will share never-before-told stories of his time in the military to guests while presenting a tasting of the Horse Soldier Bourbon line of spirits. Former New England Patriot Matt Light will join Neil for the presentation and will moderate the program.
Best of all, this charitable event supports the Light Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Light, a former 3X Super Bowl Champion, and his wife Susie in 2001. Cheers to a night of compassion, camaraderie, and community impact!
