MCC's MOMobile Home Visiting Programs offer a wide range of services to ensure families have the resources, knowledge, and support necessary to raise healthy families and build loving homes. MCC Advocates work 1:1 with families, meeting people where they are and supporting positive maternal mental health outcomes.
Last year, MCC provided case management for 1235 pregnant and parenting families.
Our Doula and Lactation program strengthens communities in two ways: through our doula training and providing free doula and lactation services to expecting families. Doulas provide physical support, emotional support, and advocacy, and doula care in perinatal care helps increase positive delivery outcomes, including reduced cesareans and premature deliveries.
Last year, MCC provided community doula and lactation support to nearly 500 birthing people.
MCC's Parenting Education Classes offer safe group spaces that help parents feel less isolated and more informed about bonding and attachment, postpartum wellness, child development, the benefits of play, supporting emotional regulation for parents and children alike, and so much more. We support healthy parent-child relationships and safe homes where children can thrive.
Last year, over 400 families received MCC parenting education classes (including moms in recovery and moms who are incarcerated).
MCC's comprehensive approach to our work includes advocating at local, state, and national levels for equitable policies that impact birthing people and families. There is a pressing slate of legislation that we need to pass to support moms and babies in Pennsylvania, including Paid Leave in Pennsylvania. Support MCC's efforts to continue this critical work!
Through a variety of community-based events, MCC distributes basic needs items to individuals and families every week, including items like children's books, formula, diapers and wipes, sexual health kits, and menstrual health supplies. Last year our outreach teams were at 260 events in our communities meeting these ongoing and critical needs!
