THE TRCP SPRING 2024 SWEEPSTAKES ("SWEEPSTAKES") BEGINS AT 12:00 AM EASTERN TIME ("ET") ON 3/13/24 AND ENDS AT 11:59 PM ET ON 4/24/24 ("ENTRY PERIOD").

 

ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 years or older at time of entry (referred to hereafter as "you" and/or "Entrant"). Subject to all applicable federal and state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, Board Members, and their immediate families (parents, children, spouse, siblings) of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership [a.k.a. TRCP ("the Sponsor")], its affiliates, subsidiaries, sales representatives and/or distributors, and all other companies involved with the development or execution of this Sweepstakes (collectively referred to "Released Parties') and their immediate families, advertising and promotion agencies and those living in the same household of each (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter.

 

HOW TO ENTER: There are two methods of entry. Method #1 Online Entry With Donation: During the Sweepstakes Entry Period, visit https://www.trcp.org/sweepstakes/and follow all entry instructions to donate and enter the sweepstakes. You are automatically entered in the Sweepstakes random drawing based on donation received according to the information posted on the online entry form page located at: https://www.trcp.org/sweepstakes/. Method #2 Mail-in Entry Without Donation: Or, to enter the Sweepstakes without donating, hand print your full name, complete address, phone number and email on a postcard and mail postcard to: TRCP 2024 Sweepstakes Postcard Entry, 529 14th Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20045. Postcard entries must be mailed separately and must be postmarked by 4/24/24 and received by 5/1/24. Each postcard entry will grant you 10 entries in the Sweepstakes random drawing.

 

LIMIT: REGARDLESS OF DONATION STATUS, THERE IS A MAXIMUM LIMIT OF 500 ENTRIES PER PERSON/EMAIL FOR THE ENTIRE ENTRY PERIOD.

 

All online entry notices posted at website apply, including but not limited to the TRCP Privacy Policy, available at https://www.trcp.org/privacy-policy/. Entries are deemed to be made by authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, damaged, garbled, incomplete, illegible, postage due and/or misdirected entries. No mechanical reproductions of entries accepted. All entries become Sponsor's property and will not be returned or acknowledged. 

 

PRIZE AND VERIFIABLE RETAIL VALUE ["VRV"]: One (1) Grand Prize: : 3-night, 2-day trip for winner and one (1) guest to hunt for turkeys with MeatEater crew members Steve Rinella and Janis Putelis in SW Colorado, VRV: $9,000.00. Winner and guest will receive roundtrip coach air transportation to the private hunting lodge in SW Colorado from a commercial airport nearest winner's primary residence (or ground transportation if winner reside within a 150-mile radius from lodge); 2 days of hunting, 3 nights in a private lodge, ground transportation to/from the hunting lodge, selected meals, guides and licenses. Grand prize does not include ground transportation (other than as previously noted), gratuities, incidentals, upgrades, service charges or other expenses not specified herein and are the Grand Prize winner's sole responsibility. First Runner-Up Prize: TRCP-Branded YETI M20 Backpack Soft Cooler (VRV: $325.00). Second Runner-Up Prize: Peak Design Everyday Messenger Bag (VRV: $229.00). Third Runner-Up Prize: TRCP Swag Bag (VRV: $159.00). Selection of items for the swag bag is at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Maximum value of all prizes: $9,713.00. Limit: One prize per household. All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion. No substitution or transfer of any prize is permitted. Prizes may not be redeemed for cash value or exchanged for another prize, except by Sponsor who reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute any prize for another prize of comparable or greater value. All federal, state, local and income taxes or other expenses relating to the use, misuse, acceptance and possession of prize are the Grand Prize Winner's sole responsibility. An IRS 1099 Form will be filed in the Grand Prize Winner's name for the value of prize won.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS FOR GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Grand Prize Winner and guest must travel on dates specified by donor (which will be scheduled for three days in April or May 2025, depending on turkey season dates and availability) and must make arrangements by October 1, 2024. Actual value of trip depends on winner's location, airfare and lodging accommodations at time of booking. If actual value of trip prize is lower than VRV, the difference will not be awarded. Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor's agent of choice. Winner and his/her guest must travel together on the same itinerary including same departure and return dates specified by the Sponsor. Availability is subject to factors such as weather, seasonality and space availability. If Steve Rinella and/or Janis Putelis cannot attend the trip/hunting activity or if any other situation occurs out of the sponsor's control, (e.g., weather, etc.) affects the ability for Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest to redeem any portion of prize during the scheduled date and time, or any other condition of unavailability, then the Sponsor shall have no further obligations to such winner and/or guest other than to supply the remaining elements of the prize package minus the unused portion of prize. Winner and guest must comply with any security procedure or measures imposed by the Sponsor, and/or Event coordinator(s) and/or representatives who reserve the right in their sole discretion to suspend or cancel the winner's participation and/or his/her guest's participation due to non-compliance with any security procedure or inappropriate behavior or misconduct. If for any reason whatsoever, Grand Prize Winner and/or guest is unable to travel after all arrangements have been made and paid, the Sponsor shall have no further obligation to him/her. If Grand Prize is forfeited prior to Sponsor finalizing and paying for travel, and there is sufficient time to notify an alternate winner, the corresponding prize will be awarded to an alternate winner in a separate random drawing from among all non-winning eligible entries. Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest are responsible for obtaining the proper travel documentation (e.g., valid photo ID) prior to travel. Guest must be 18 years or older and must complete and return a Liability and Publicity Release prior to travel. Winner and guest will be required to comply with safety and health requirements and policies, put in place by Sponsor and/or lodging establishment. The winner and guest must also comply with all applicable laws, policies, orders, protocols, and guidelines issued by federal, state, and local authorities respecting any communicable diseases, which may affect travel and/or sporting activity.

 

FOR WINNERS OF MERCHANDISE PRIZES: Each winner acknowledges that the Sponsor and all other businesses concerned with this Sweepstakes and their agents do not make, nor are they in any manner responsible for any warranty, representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, conditions, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of any prize except that each prize shall be subject to the manufacturer's standard warranty.

 

WINNER SELECTION and NOTIFICATION: A random drawing will be conducted on or about 5/8/24 from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Random drawing conducted by the Sponsor's agent ("judges") whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Potential winners will be contacted immediately thereafter via email, mail and/or courier. Any winner may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability which must be signed and returned (along with any other documentation the Sponsor reasonably requires for prize fulfillment, such as, but not limited to, providing proof of identity) and W-9 Form within seven (7) days of date printed on notification or the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be determined. If a potential winner fails to respond within 7 days, or if notification is returned as undeliverable, that potential winner will be disqualified, and an alternate will be determined. Prizes will be awarded within approximately 30 days of each winner's verification. At Sponsor's discretion, if after 5 attempts a winner is not confirmed, the corresponding prize will not be awarded.

 

GENERAL: By participating in the Sweepstakes, each Entrant (i) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Except where prohibited by law, entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use each winner's name, photograph, hometown, likeness, and prize won (all at Sponsor's discretion) for future advertising, publicity in any and all media now or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification, release, or permission. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of any prize or for any suspension of the Sweepstakes or inability to implement the Sweepstakes or award the prizes as contemplated herein due to any event beyond its control, including delays or interruptions caused by acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, utility outages, acts of terrorism or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or regulator. Sponsor reserves the right to take action to: (i) permanently disqualify from any sweepstakes it sponsors any person it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules; (ii) suspend the collection of entries if the Sweepstakes becomes unfairly impaired in any way and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to such action. This Sweepstakes shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A. without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. ANY CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND/OR AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS SWEEPSTAKES. ENTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ANY RIGHTS OR CLAIMS TO ATTORNEY'S FEES, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ENTRANT, WHETHER FORESEEABLE OR NOT and WHETHER BASED ON NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE. LEGAL WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, DESTROY, TAMPER WITH OR VANDALIZE OR INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL and CIVIL LAWS and SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES and DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL REMEDIES and CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AGAINST ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

 

RELEASE: Entrants on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns ("Releasing Parties"), release, defend and hold harmless Sponsor, any entity involved in the fulfillment of the prizes or the administration of the Sweepstakes, and their respective employees, officers, directors and agents of each ("Released Parties"), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, lost profits, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, extent, executions, claims and demands whatsoever, in law, admiralty or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant's participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize won, including property damage, personal injury or death.

 

By participating in this Sweepstakes, each entrant expressively waives and relinquishes all rights and benefits afforded by California Civil Code 1542 and does so understanding and acknowledging the significance of this waiver. Section 1542 states as follows: "A GENERAL RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS THAT THE CREDITOR OR RELEASING PARTY DID NOT KNOW OR SUSPECT TO EXIST IN HIS OR HER FAVOR AT THE TIME OF EXECUTING THE RELEASE AND THAT, IF KNOWN, BY HIM OR HER, WOULD HAVE MATERIALLY AFFECTED HIS OR HER SETTLEMENT WITH THE DEBTOR OR THE RELEASED PARTIES."

NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS: In the event of a dispute over the identity of an online entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the email address submitted at time of entry. Authorized Account Holder means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered, or mass entries or entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; or (ii) any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.

 

LEGAL WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL, WHETHER OR NOT AN ENTRANT, TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE, DESTROY, TAMPER WITH OR VANDALIZE THIS WEBSITE OR INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND DILIGENTLY PURSUE ALL REMEDIES AND CRIMINAL PROSECUTION AGAINST ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
