24" Butterfly

From the smooth chords of jazz to screaming solos of rock, the Les Paul Standard has been a guitar of choice for musicians of all genres of music. Its timeless beauty brings back songs and styles from generations past to generations to come.

My design will be to create a 1958 Les Paul Standard guitar. I will be adding an aluminum neck to the guitar to be welded to the underside butterfly body. I plan to use real guitar parts as much as possible as well as adding strings. I would like to request a 2'x2' size butterfly as this would lend itself best to the guitar's actual size.

Rich Leonard has been a resident of Fountain Hills for just over four years. He enjoys playing music, both guitar and lately drums. He is an accountant by trade but enjoys expanding his creative side whenever possible.

Purple Rain

Mothera represents encaustic evolution. The work is a collage of natural and man made stones and materials. It is meant to convey that humankind can attempt to live in harmony with the earth.

Crystal is a retired dentist, having practiced on Chicago's Michigan Avenue for 35 years. I have been an art collector for my entire career, and always attended galleries and shows when I traveled for work and meetings. The city of Chicago is rich with art and architecture as well.
In my spare time I took courses at the Art institute of Chicago. After we moved to Fountain Hills I took numerous courses at the Mesa Art Center. Currently, my encaustic work can be seen at Estate Interiors.

Stoned

"Stoned" is an intricately designed masterpiece that embodies the spirit of Arizona, brought to life by Sami Jack, the visionary behind Sami Fine Jewelry. This creation beautifully captures the essence of the American Southwest. "Stoned" was designed to remind you to open your heart and mind like the wings of a butterfly and see how high you can truly fly.

Sami draws inspiration from her father, Buddy Keith, who nurtured her deep appreciation for Arizona gemstones. The butterfly design in "Stoned" showcases turquoise pieces expertly cut and polished by Buddy, intricately fashioned into the butterfly's wings, alongside some of his other beloved gems.

Sami Jack, the founder of Sami's, started her career selling jewelry in her bikini on the beaches of Daytona Beach, Florida. At the time she was mostly selling Indian jewelry, and there was a major demand for it all over the United States. She soon built her popularity, carrying turquoise into a unique traveling business, which included selling to airports all over the southwest. This is where she fell in love with our beautiful desert and decided to set roots in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1980, she had a beautiful daughter named Stephenie. In 2001 Sami saw the opportunity to break ground on her dream store. In 2002 this dream became a reality, Sami Fine Jewelry opened its doors on the Avenue of the Fountains. Boasting a new look, and 3600 square feet to boot! Sami and her daughter Stephanie have turned Sami Fine jewelry into a one of a kind "fun" store with its own active place in the Fountain Hills community.

Desert Darling

"I'm here, I'm there ...on the ground, in the air...zoom zoom...look at me, all decked out in my metallic colors. Aren't I beautiful?"

The roadrunner made famous in cartoons as he is pursued by the coyote is wily and fast. His coloring, really quite bland. I decided to upgrade his look with other colors of the desert to also make him spectacular.

Artistic and creative activities have been a passion of mine sine my first box of Crayola Crayons. In my retirement I have actualized this passion. I was an early member of the Fountain Hills Art League. I work in oil, watercolor and acrylic mediums. I do fine art as well as craft-inspired work. Previously I was a partner in "For the Birds," a bird house business featuring my butterfly work with most sales in Jackson, Wyoming. I also had pieces in a Alpine, Wyoming, gallery. Most of my sales have been private or commissioned.
