Down Home Music: The Stories and Photographs of Chris Strachwitz by Joel Selvin and Chris Strachwitz

Chris Strachwitz was the most important folklorist/music producer of American vernacular music in the late 20th century. His Arhoolie Records label plumbed the blues, made zydeco music available to the world outside Louisiana, and became one of the great collections of Mexican-American music. Chris also brought a camera on his photographs expeditions, and Down Home Music is the result - his stories and his photographs.

Rosie McGee has been a treasured Grateful Dead insider since the sixties. Her new coffee table book contains 400 of her intimate portraits of the band and those close to them from their earliest days. 40% of the photos were never seen before the publication of this book.
