Ross Middleton was inspired to create his chair based on a favorite book by Robert Lopshire, edited by Dr. Seuss, "Put Me in The Zoo."
In this beloved beginner book, Spot shows a young boy and girl all the exciting things he can do with his spots-from changing their color and juggling them, to moving them on to different objects!
Ross says that polka dots are really harder to create than they look, they are wonderfully irregular but he enjoyed figuring out how to make the polka dots and put them on the chair while it was unassembled.
Ross says: "My granddaughter and I would take the RMH wish list to Sams Club and buy what we could find on the list and then take it to the House and drop it off. She would get such a kick out of shopping for the families and then taking the items and dropping them off without telling anyone our names. What a wonderful way to teach her that kindness and charity do not need recognition!"
