In 1980 the Brown family parents purchased an abandoned ranch in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley. They rehabilitated the crumbling homestead and planted viniferous grapes - which for a decade was farmed and sold to local winemakers. In 1995 the Brown children decided to make their own wine. They established the Brown Estate label officially in 1996 when they harvested what would become their first bottling of Brown Zin. In January 2000 they debuted their first three vintages at the annual ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) Grand Tasting in San Francisco. Fast forward to August 2021 when they bottled their 25th vintage. Add this special collection of wines and port from this second-generation family owned and farmed Napa Valley Estate. Pol Roger 'White Foil' is traditionally a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir (body and depth), Pinot Meunier (freshness and vigorous fruit) and Chardonnay (elegance and finesse) and is sourced exclusively from juice from the "cuvee" (first pressing). The still wines are fermented in stainless steel at a cool 45°f to retain freshness. Prior to final blending each lot is aged on its own, separated by village, vineyard, grower and grape variety. Once blended, each bottle of Champagne Pol Roger is aged and hand riddled in the 4.66 mile-long cellars under the Epernay château which are among the deepest (100 feet below ground) and coolest (48°F) cellars in champagne. Each final blend contains a minimum of two vintages with the youngest components being a minimum of three years old.
