The Estate History...
According to local lore, the estate house and barn were built circa 1890 by a prominent businessman for his mistress. The property was subsequently the home of a Russian princess, a prune and walnut orchard, a camellia nursery and a Christmas tree farm. In many ways, this history shapes the overall identity of Boeschen Vineyards; their approach is Old-World, with the wines reflecting a classic structure and tradition.

The Garden...
The Boeschen Vineyards gardens present a magical opportunity to step back in time. Master Gardener Susan has redesigned the grounds to create the feel of a garden that might have been planted at the time the house was built, in the late 1800's, and has saved the old plantings and trees whenever possible. The gardens have something of fragrance in bloom at all times, and the structures of that original era have been incorporated throughout the estate.

The Car Collection...
Dann has long been a German sports car fan, and now, after a decade of vintage racing, his collection is on display in the car barn. Included are a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, known by the French as a Papillon for its "Butterfly" doors; a 1956 Porsche Speedster, returned to street trim after its racing career; and a 1959 Porsche sunroof coupe, restored from bare metal to factory new condition. Displayed with a 1966 Porsche 906 are original photos from its 50-year racing history.

Blue Oak Vineyard private wine tasting experience for six: Blue Oak Vineyard was planted in the mid-1990s in a unique part of the Napa Valley-in the southeast corner known as Coombsville. This area has been recently named the newest appellation, but for many years it was the best-kept secret of Napa.

On the very top of this Coombsville knoll is where the Blue Oak Vineyard resides, with volcanic ash and mountainous hillsides creating the grapes special character. Francis Ford Coppola wanted to create a place for families to come and enjoy all the best things in life together. For years, he had seen children playing around the fountain at Inglenook, pleading with their parents to allow them to jump in. Francis always sympathized with the children, so he thought the kids will want to go swimming, so let's have swimming pools.

Situated in the center of the park area at the winery, two swimming pools totaling 3,600 square feet are surrounded by chaise lounge chairs, which have become a welcome addition for children and adults on warm Alexander Valley days.

This package includes use of one cabine for up to four guests (including the exclusive opportunity to make reservations in advance!), four pool passes and access to winery swimming pool, reservations for four lounge chairs, and use of towels for the day.

Seavy Vineyard: Enjoy a private tour of their historic winery and cave and a private vertical tasting of five of their estate-produced wines. You will get a rare glimpse into a small, family-operated vineyard and winery that has never bought a grape and produces wine entirely on-site. A perfect afternoon for both beginners and experienced collectors and oenophiles.

In the 1870s - when Conn Valley Road was little more than a wagon trail - the land which they now farm was planted with grapes to make a "Claret of high repute." This wine was judged by the St. Helena Star to be "as fine as one might find anywhere." Commonly known as the Franco-Swiss Farming Company, this was the pioneering vineyard and winemaking operation of Conn Valley. After roughly thirty years of producing great wines, the company dissolved due to the impact of a phylloxera infestation and Prohibition. For more than a half century, cattle roamed the land and grain was farmed but no more grapes were cultivated until Bill and Mary Seavey acquired the land in 1979.

Bill and Mary set out to revive the original vineyard, planting the south-facing hillsides of Conn Valley near Lake Hennessey. By 1990, they had remodeled an 1881 stone dairy barn into a small winery and began producing small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Small blocks of Merlot and Petit Verdot were also added along with a second winery building which includes an underground wine cave.

Faust x Roberto Ruspoli Collaboration

The 2019 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon features classic aromas of black cherries and chocolate with layers of savory black cherry tart and notes of tarragon and subtle oak spice. We also find the signature mineral notes of the Faust estate vineyard with polished, fine-grained tannins accenting the finish. It's a mouthful of complexity, and this is going to be one of those Cabernet Sauvignon's that we'll talk about for years to come.

Following their collaboration with artist Roberto Ruspoli through his stunning murals on the walls of Faust Haus, they decided to further showcase his talents on a Faust label. For the second straight year, Ruspoli has lent his gifted hand to our special magnum release.

With only 149 acres (60 hectares) planted to vineyards on the slopes of iconic Mount St. Helena, the remainder of the land is preserved as natural habitat. TASTING NOTES
Beautifully clear, dark garnet in color. Hints of rose petal and black cherry on the nose, reminiscent of a Black Forest cake. On the palate, it is like a fine dark chocolate melting on the tongue, or perhaps a ripe strawberry dipped in excellent chocolate. The wine is dense and complex, foretelling a long future of ever increasing dimensions. Nevertheless, the tannins are supple and it is easy and enjoyable to drink now. However, this wine will open and gain in complexity over the next 10-15 years.

PAIRINGS
This wine will pair well with a flourless chocolate cake or a roast duck with berry compote.
