On the palate this is classic Cabernet; dense and chewy, with notes of cedar. Tannins are ripe and lush. The 2019 Cabernet Franc is another deeply intriguing wine from Dyer. It offers notable freshness and plenty of verve,,, More than anything else, the Franc is a wine of place. 2019 Melka CJ Cabernet: Their 23rd vintage of this wine and it is still a joy to produce. There is a reason their CJ has such a strong following and this wine does not disappoint. The nose is intense and powerful with black currant, raspberry and fresh strawberries along with hints of crushed rocks. The entry is juicy and layered complemented by cassis, red plum, with a leathery yet vibrant structure. This wine has lots of fruit with plush, integrated tannins that make this easy and approachable even at a young stage in its life. Recommended to decant to show off even more of its expressivity.

Expressive and lively on the nose, the 2019 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a black cherry and huckleberry aroma laced with dry floral notes. Winemaker Notes: Pretty and pure with aromas of citrus, white peach, and juicy pear, this beautiful Sauvignon Blanc is layered and complex. Apple clafoutis and floral aromatics invite you in. Rich and textural, this wine perfectly balances viscosity and acidity. Sea spray and salted lemon with some grapefruit pith carries through its long finish. Delicious and refreshing!

2020 Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Situated on the western edge of St. Helena in Napa Valley, the Spottswoode Estate terroir is ideal for winegrowing. The alluvial clay loam from the Sulphur Creek fan provides superb drainage while cool maritime breezes passing between Spring Mountain and the Mayacamas range allow the fruit to ripen evenly.

Winemaker Notes: Our longstanding practice of picking our estate fruit when perfectly ripe meant that, serendipitously, our fruit was harvested by September 26. While our yields were down due to drought conditions, the quality and concentration of the fruit at harvest was excellent. Young and present, this is an energetic and bold expression of violets, lavender, and cassis mixed with dark chocolate, cherry, plum, and graphite. A wine happy to be tucked away in the cellar, and it's also expressing itself beautifully now.

Faust x Roberto Ruspoli Collaboration

The 2019 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon features classic aromas of black cherries and chocolate with layers of savory black cherry tart and notes of tarragon and subtle oak spice. We also find the signature mineral notes of the Faust estate vineyard with polished, fine-grained tannins accenting the finish. It's a mouthful of complexity, and this is going to be one of those Cabernet Sauvignon's that we'll talk about for years to come.

Following their collaboration with artist Roberto Ruspoli through his stunning murals on the walls of Faust Haus, they decided to further showcase his talents on a Faust label. For the second straight year, Ruspoli has lent his gifted hand to our special magnum release.

Rupsoli drew inspiration from his Faust Haus mural to create the evocative silhouette on the label. As he explains, his style is a contemporary telling of the classical world. And for guidance, he turned to the words of Faust, the tragic play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Fill your heart to overflowing, and when you feel profoundest bliss, then call it what you will."

2013 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon: A quintessential Napa Cabernet, this wine is rich and dark in the glass. Aromas of blackberry and faint dried herb waft up from the rim towards you. Upon tasting, the wine has a broad and pleasant entry, moving to a focused and weighty mid palate with notes of cassis, toast and graphite. A lengthy finish shows well proportioned tannin that will gain even more complexity as time passes. With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 15 years.

2016 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon: The wine opens with abundant dark fruit on the nose such as plum, blackberry and cherries, with a touch of leather and graphite. In the mouth it starts with lively acidity that brings a freshness to the wine, then it evolves on soft tannins and a very velvety texture-already showing great! There is a lot of tension and drinkability with this wine at release so it can be enjoyed immediately.

Benessere Vineyards is a small, family-owned boutique winery specializing in Italian varietals made in the heart of Napa Valley, where the soil is supremely suited for growing these types of grapes. Benessere, an Italian word meaning "well-being" or "living the good life," reflects their dedication to producing Italian varietals and our penchant for providing warm, welcoming hospitality.

TASTING NOTES
Beautifully clear, dark garnet in color. Hints of rose petal and black cherry on the nose, reminiscent of a Black Forest cake. On the palate, it is like a fine dark chocolate melting on the tongue, or perhaps a ripe strawberry dipped in excellent chocolate. The wine is dense and complex, foretelling a long future of ever increasing dimensions. Nevertheless, the tannins are supple and it is easy and enjoyable to drink now. However, this wine will open and gain in complexity over the next 10-15 years.

PAIRINGS
This wine will pair well with a flourless chocolate cake or a roast duck with berry compote.

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable on the date of sale - amounting to 8.25%. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell alcohol. Sales tax will be collected on the purchase price of each tangible item included in an auction lot.

Shipping or Pick-up of package: Shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the winner.

Non-Napa County winners must arrange for their package to be shipped from The Packaging Company, beginning Wednesday, March 6th. If you're the lucky winner, we'll call or email you with directions for making this happen.
