Blue Oak Vineyard private wine tasting experience for six: Blue Oak Vineyard was planted in the mid-1990s in a unique part of the Napa Valley-in the southeast corner known as Coombsville. This area has been recently named the newest appellation, but for many years it was the best-kept secret of Napa.

On the very top of this Coombsville knoll is where the Blue Oak Vineyard resides, with volcanic ash and mountainous hillsides creating the grapes special character. And with a microclimate that is well suited to Cabernet, Blue Oak is a rare grower of Merlot in the region. Like the great wines of Bordeaux, Merlot provides the varietal that creates extraordinary, long-lasting wines of supple beauty. Hence, Blue Oak Merlot stands out as a special wine in a special area.

GIII: Sourced from the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford, this wine is produced from 100% Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes originated from a specific section of the vineyard that was formerly part of the Napa River riverbed. This section benefits from an abundance of minerals and rocks left behind that makes it distinct from the surrounding terroir. Medium- to full-bodied and approachable in its youth, this wine features notes of sweet tobacco, spearmint, and ripe red fruit with opulent and soft, rounded tannins.

MB: The Monastery Block is located on the western side of the To Kalon Vineyard, nestled against the foothills of the Mayacamas adjacent to the Carmelite monastery from which it takes its name. The wine is produced from 100% Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon planted on well-drained gravelly soils, showing a classic Oakville expression that balances rich black fruit with minerality and a floral component. Elegant and classically styled, this wine is generous, layered, and fresh.

WH: Wappo Hill Vineyard, in the Stags Leap District, was first planted in 1969. Produced from 100% Clone 685 Cabernet Sauvignon, this bottling is sourced from hillside vines planted on well-drained, gravelly, and clay-loam soils. The vines thrive with ample afternoon sun bookended by cool mornings and evenings and produce intensely flavored fruit with exceptionally balanced acidity. The wine features notes of blackberry, red cherry, and briary aromas that combine with pleasing threads of baking spice, floral petal, and dusty earth tones. This stunning wine shows the tremendous power of a classic Napa Valley Cabernet with a polished, long-lasting finish.

Francis Ford Coppola wanted to create a place for families to come and enjoy all the best things in life together. For years, he had seen children playing around the fountain at Inglenook, pleading with their parents to allow them to jump in. Francis always sympathized with the children, so he thought the kids will want to go swimming, so let's have swimming pools.

Situated in the center of the park area at the winery, two swimming pools totaling 3,600 square feet are surrounded by chaise lounge chairs, which have become a welcome addition for children and adults on warm Alexander Valley days.

This package includes use of one cabine for up to four guests (including the exclusive opportunity to make reservations in advance!), four pool passes and access to winery swimming pool, reservations for four lounge chairs, and use of towels for the day.

Winemaker Celia Welch writes of the 2014 Scarecrow: The consistency of this vintage during the growing season has, not surprisingly, manifested itself in the overall impression of the finished wine. Lovely cassis, black plum, violets, dried blackberries on the vine, baking spices, chestnut, and just a hint of fresh earth interconnect in the very forward aromas of this unmistakably Rutherford Cabernet. On the palate, the entry is balanced and elegant, polished but with a clear density, a flavor core that adds gravitas and suggests ageability. The finish is of wild plums, black cherry jam, and a hint of
warm vanilla.

DB4 celebrates Bryant Estate's founder, Don Bryant, and his love of the "4" blocks, which form the heart of their estate vineyard. Young, fresh, and approachable, DB4 can be described as the precocious younger sibling of the wines they produce.

A combination of Bryant, Madrona, Thorevilos, and Las Posadas fruit, their DB4 immediately dances from the glass with aromatics of fresh red and blue fruits, rhubarb, and menthol. Very lively and electric, the profile exhibits this freshness and is laced with notes of forest, wet river rocks, and a dusting of cocoa. 2020 Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Situated on the western edge of St. Helena in Napa Valley, the Spottswoode Estate terroir is ideal for winegrowing. The alluvial clay loam from the Sulphur Creek fan provides superb drainage while cool maritime breezes passing between Spring Mountain and the Mayacamas range allow the fruit to ripen evenly.

Winemaker Notes: Our longstanding practice of picking our estate fruit when perfectly ripe meant that, serendipitously, our fruit was harvested by September 26. While our yields were down due to drought conditions, the quality and concentration of the fruit at harvest was excellent. Young and present, this is an energetic and bold expression of violets, lavender, and cassis mixed with dark chocolate, cherry, plum, and graphite. A wine happy to be tucked away in the cellar, and it's also expressing itself beautifully now.

This case of wine is proudly made by the future winemakers from Napa Valley College's Viticulture Teaching Winery! This is the very first winery located on a community college campus in California bonded and licensed to produce and sell wine.

Every aspect of the winemaking process is completed on the campus in their own winery and cellar. The students experience every aspect of the process, from work in the vineyard to the marketing and sale of the wine. You could say that their wine is touched by more hands than at any other winery.

2015 NVC Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Alcohol 13.4%. Fruit forward with notes of bright strawberries and licorice, followed by hints of cherry cola and toasted almonds.

2022 NVC Estate Sauvignon Blanc: Alcohol 14.7%. Clean and crisp. Like the Cabernet, all of the wine NVC produces is made from grapes grown on their five-acre vineyard located on the Napa Valley College Campus.

Faust x Roberto Ruspoli Collaboration

The 2019 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon features classic aromas of black cherries and chocolate with layers of savory black cherry tart and notes of tarragon and subtle oak spice. We also find the signature mineral notes of the Faust estate vineyard with polished, fine-grained tannins accenting the finish. It's a mouthful of complexity, and this is going to be one of those Cabernet Sauvignon's that we'll talk about for years to come.

Following their collaboration with artist Roberto Ruspoli through his stunning murals on the walls of Faust Haus, they decided to further showcase his talents on a Faust label. For the second straight year, Ruspoli has lent his gifted hand to our special magnum release.

Rupsoli drew inspiration from his Faust Haus mural to create the evocative silhouette on the label. As he explains, his style is a contemporary telling of the classical world. And for guidance, he turned to the words of Faust, the tragic play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Fill your heart to overflowing, and when you feel profoundest bliss, then call it what you will."

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable on the date of sale - amounting to 8.25%. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell alcohol. Sales tax will be collected on the purchase price of each tangible item included in an auction lot.
