With over 3,500 rides given per year, regular oil changes are a necessity to ensure our fleet of vans stay road-ready.

YC vans have 30+ gallon tanks! To completely fill up one tank of one van costs an average of $118.14!

As fuel prices have increased over the last few years, we've been feeling a big pinch at the pump!

YC vans travel all over Northeast Ohio, from Huron to Madison, and often across state lines to attend competitions and events.

With lots of travel comes the need for lots of maintenance, including regular tune-ups. $250 covers the cost of tuning up (fluids, oil change, tire rotation, etc.) one of the vans in our fleet.

Every driver at YC is thoroughly trained to ensure the safety of our participant passengers. Driver training includes learning how to operate our lifts, tie downs, seat belts, driving and operating the van, and engaging with the participants on board.

Drivers are the first faces to greet the YC kids before a program and the last to say farewell at the end of the day. An investment of $500 provides excellent and thorough training for the YC crew.

Accessible lifts are what make the YC vans accessible for all participants at YC. Some wheelchairs weigh hundreds of pounds, plus their users, which, after lots of use, can put strain on the van's lifts.

When a lift breaks, it costs about $1,000 to repair it, as the equipment is specialized and can't be taken to just any mechanic.

YC has eight lift-equipped vans to maintain yearly. This costs about $2,000 per year including:

• Tires (if needed)
• Brakes (if needed)
• Oil changes
• Lift Maintenance
