Katama Eastman '92 lives in New York City with her husband and four children. She graduated from Williams College and had an early career as a fashion buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue and Ralph Lauren. After her daughter's diagnosis of Type One diabetes, Katama left the retail world and became a research, advocacy, and outreach volunteer. She is a yoga instructor and photographer. She was self taught until the pandemic which created online opportunities to study photography under the expertise of Carol Dragon.

He also studied portraiture with Marvin Mattelson at SVA. In 2006, Tim spent a month studying at the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Tim recently completed the Drawing Year at Grand Central Atelier in NYC.

Ready for a fascinating art history lesson?
In 1967, Andy Warhol began his now iconic 'Marilyn' series following the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe. Designed from a 1953 publicity shot for the film 'Niagara,' Warhol created 10 variations of the image, each with its own distinct color combination. Only 250 of these "Factory Editions" were produced, which led to them becoming some of the most sought-after in the art world.
In 1970, Warhol collaborated with some anonymous Belgian friends on a new set of prints-highly detailed replicas of his original works- as a commentary on mass production and modern culture.
Today, these prints, created with the exact same tools and methods Warhol had used for the originals and bearing the black stamp "1970 Sunday B. Morning," are part of Warhol's print collection.
Sunday B. Morning, the print studio of Warhol's Belgian collaborators, continues to produce screen prints from these original Factory photo negative stencils. In all, it published 250 editions of Marilyn, Flowers, Campbell's Soup Cans and Campbell's Soup Cans II. Since the 1980s, they have featured a blue stamp on the back.
The relationship between Warhol and the Belgian printers soured for mysterious reasons. What's clear is that their works looked exactly like the original Factory Editions…and why wouldn't they? That was how Andy had, at one point, intended it.

Among the most famous Andy Warhol images is a decorative grid of bananas. Here's the very 60s backstory.
In 1965, Warhol became the manager for The Velvet Underground. He booked the rock band-fronted by Lou Reed-into New York's Scepter Studios in April, 1966 to record their first album. Warhol insisted that a chanteuse named Nico (real name Christa Päffgen) sing on the album, hence the title, "The Velvet Underground & Nico."
Warhol gave his Banana painting to the band for their album cover. Early copies invited owners to peel back the banana skin to reveal a flesh-colored banana underneath. The removable banana sticker was so difficult to produce, requiring a special machine, that it delayed the album's release until March, 1967. It would go on to become one of the most significant art-pop records of all time.

Eighth Graders meticulously selected real flowers, leaves, and herbs, infusing their essence into clay with precision and care. The 43" x 43" Blooming Quilt is a colorful reminder of the flourishing imaginations and budding talents within the 5th-grade class. Assigned a tile each, every student was provided with basic geometric coding blocks to explore and eventually craft their unique floral patterns with. These tiles were then sewn together, resulting in a one of a kind textile tapestry.
For this year's Auction, 7th-grade students worked on an art project inspired by the work of former graffiti artist Eric Reiger, known as "HOTTEA". Drawing upon Reiger's innovative use of materials, particularly oodles of colorful yarn and PVC tubing, Mr. Cameron and 7th grade students collaborated to create a striking installation called the "Ring of String."

Divided into teams of two, the pairs will each receive a basket of three no-bake ingredients. They'll have an hour to plan and execute a delicious dessert that will be judged on presentation, creativity, and, of course, taste. The judges, like the contest's theme, will be top secret, but they'll be led by super-chef and RCS mom of Beaux '30 Erin Tedesco. She may even dish on some industry tips! Whispers of the Wild: An Afternoon with Adorable Animals and Reiki Master Brooke Baxter
Join international animal whisperer, Reiki Master, and RCS parent of Cate '27 and Bea Chatham '30, Brooke Baxter for an unforgettable afternoon with animals designed just for kids. At this unique workshop, your student and up to nine friends will learn the basics of non-verbal communication with animals, plus confidence-boosting techniques for connecting with these amazing creatures via hands-on, collaborative, and game-based exercises.
The workshop will take place at Brooke's farm in Katonah with the animals who live there. Snacks (for humans) will be provided. Fun is guaranteed.

Leaving from school on a Friday afternoon in May -- by RCS bus! -- they will fawn over baby animals, gobble up facts about Muscoot's days as a working dairy farm, and gallop through the trails with friends. What a great way to moo-ve into summer!
Aquatic Adventures at Norwalk Aquarium with Ms. Finn
Prepare for an underwater adventure extravaganza! ???? We invite your little explorer and their three BFFs to dive into a day of aquatic wonders at the Norwalk Aquarium, guided by the fabulous Mrs. Finn - RCS's resident science sensation! Mrs. Finn will give your marine-curious children a VIP tour, turning every exhibit into a lively classroom, where laughter and learning go hand in hand. Watch out for those tricky seahorses - they might just be the secret masters of disguise.
So, pack some underwater snacks (gummy fish, anyone?) and get ready for a day of education and hilarity. This is not your average aquarium trip; it's a deep-sea bonding experience with Mrs. Finn at the helm. Let the giggles and fishy facts flow like the tides!

While the littles are at their Garden Party, the (grownup!) winner of this auction item will head over to the Cushman House with five guests for a one-hour Wellness Session. After the session, tea sandwiches will be waiting for you in the EC garden to enjoy lunch while the children are playing.
Jessica Knopke, Certified Meditation and Yoga Teacher and wellness guru for our kiddos, will begin the session by guiding participants through breathwork and gentle yoga. Then Holly Connetta, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and Sound Healer, will bathe participants in the soothing and harmonizing sounds of her Tibetan Singing Bowls. This session is sure to leave you feeling relaxed, peaceful and restored, while your kids are happy and exhausted. A magical combination.

Spend an evening in RCS's Innovation Lab, building your very own Gaming PC under the guidance of Activision Exec Will Gahagan (RCS dad to Rosie '30 and Ellie '33) and RCS Innovation Director Miles Cameron (Dad to Grey '26, Harry '28, and Georgia '30).
During this hands-on event, you or your kid will build an Intel/NVIDIA 4000 Series Gaming PC from scratch. Together with our experts, you will construct the machine while you learn more about the gaming industry from experienced insiders.
And of course, you get to take home the finished build. The total package includes a case, CPU, GPU motherboard, harddrive, RAM, power supply, and a copy of Call of Duty: MWIII.
Fine print: The showcase will take place from 5-8 PM (pizza dinner included) on an autumn date, either October 9th or 16th, 2024.
