Katama Eastman '92 lives in New York City with her husband and four children. She graduated from Williams College and had an early career as a fashion buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue and Ralph Lauren. After her daughter's diagnosis of Type One diabetes, Katama left the retail world and became a research, advocacy, and outreach volunteer. She is a yoga instructor and photographer. She was self taught until the pandemic which created online opportunities to study photography under the expertise of Carol Dragon.
Katama had her first solo exhibition this summer at the Quogue Library Art Gallery. This framed 25.25w x 19h stunner entitled "White Night" is from her Quogue show and would bring grace and serenity to any home.

Tim studied illustration at Syracuse University, where he received a BFA in 2000, and received training in the Russian academic tradition at Bridgeview School of Fine Arts in New York. He studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York with Mary Beth McKenzie, Michael Grimaldi, Leonid Gervits, Jack Faragasso, and Costa Vavagiakis. He also studied portraiture with Marvin Mattelson at SVA. In 2006, Tim spent a month studying at the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Tim recently completed the Drawing Year at Grand Central Atelier in NYC.

Ready for a fascinating art history lesson?
In 1967, Andy Warhol began his now iconic 'Marilyn' series following the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe. Designed from a 1953 publicity shot for the film 'Niagara,' Warhol created 10 variations of the image, each with its own distinct color combination. Only 250 of these "Factory Editions" were produced, which led to them becoming some of the most sought-after in the art world.
In 1970, Warhol collaborated with some anonymous Belgian friends on a new set of prints-highly detailed replicas of his original works- as a commentary on mass production and modern culture.
Today, these prints, created with the exact same tools and methods Warhol had used for the originals and bearing the black stamp "1970 Sunday B. Morning," are part of Warhol's print collection.
Sunday B. Morning, the print studio of Warhol's Belgian collaborators, continues to produce screen prints from these original Factory photo negative stencils. In all, it published 250 editions of Marilyn, Flowers, Campbell's Soup Cans and Campbell's Soup Cans II. Since the 1980s, they have featured a blue stamp on the back.
The relationship between Warhol and the Belgian printers soured for mysterious reasons. What's clear is that their works looked exactly like the original Factory Editions…and why wouldn't they? That was how Andy had, at one point, intended it.

Among the most famous Andy Warhol images is a decorative grid of bananas. Here's the very 60s backstory.
In 1965, Warhol became the manager for The Velvet Underground. He booked the rock band-fronted by Lou Reed-into New York's Scepter Studios in April, 1966 to record their first album. Warhol insisted that a chanteuse named Nico (real name Christa Päffgen) sing on the album, hence the title, "The Velvet Underground & Nico."
Warhol gave his Banana painting to the band for their album cover. Early copies invited owners to peel back the banana skin to reveal a flesh-colored banana underneath. The removable banana sticker was so difficult to produce, requiring a special machine, that it delayed the album's release until March, 1967. It would go on to become one of the most significant art-pop records of all time.

One anonymous autograph hunter achieved the near-impossible: Getting two 20th century icons who didn't care much for each other, Andy Warhol and Truman Capote, to sign the cover of Interview Magazine, featuring Liza Minnelli, no less.
The imprints of these dazzling characters combine to create a magnificently rare collector's item that perfectly channels the gritty glamour of 1970s and 80s New York society, most recently depicted in Gus Van Sant's "Capote vs. The Swans."
The back of the frame contains the envelope from the original owner, who-understandably-obtained the signatures of these two gentlemen separately.
Behold, an original lithograph poster for Andy Warhol's film, "The Chelsea Girls."
Though his art took center stage, Warhol's muses and friends received their share of attention. Such was the case with his film, "The Chelsea Girls."
Released in 1966, the edgy, provocative feature centered on footage of his "Superstars," including Mary Woronov, Nico, and Susan Bottomly (aka International Velvet)-all shown, alongside Warhol, on the poster. The movie was Warhol's first commercial success, although it was not quite as critically-acclaimed as the poster made it seem. Visually original, it was projected as a split-screen project, in which one side of the screen was black and white and the other in color. It was shown in several prominent art theaters, including Cinema Rendezvous, the Regency Theater and the York Cinema. The image for the poster was adapted from a photograph by Billy Name, the archivist and photographer for The Factory from 1964-1970.
You'll find no truer portrait of Warhol's '60s scene than this.
Kindergarteners had so much fun choosing their marble size and paint color to create this abstract piece inspired by the colors of this year's auction. Each student watched as their marble paved its way and made its mark on the canvas, just as each one of these awesome student artists do every day.

Inspired by American artist Gary Hirsch and his BotJoy movement, Third Graders designed their dominos to show flowers and other forms that represent their own identity as they "flourish" their way through life at RCS. The dominos are mounted on a beautiful piece of antique wood that was graciously donated by New England Antique Lumber in Mount Kisco.

With keen eyes and steady hands, our young Fourth Grade artists brought to life the intricate details of flowers and leaves using graphite pencil. They recalled their observational drawing skills applying different shading techniques to add light and shadow while drawing from life. Each stroke captures the essence of nature's splendor. Observe the striking way they were each able to capture the delicate textures and captivating beauty of these remarkable floralscapes.

Art and nature intertwine with "Petals in Progress," a captivating bas relief creation by our talented Eighth Grade students. Inspired by the timeless elegance of ancient artistic techniques, each detail of this masterpiece resonates with the delicate beauty of the natural world. Eighth Graders meticulously selected real flowers, leaves, and herbs, infusing their essence into clay with precision and care. With gentle hands, they pressed these botanical treasures into the clay, creating an intricate mold that captures every texture and contour.

Affixed upon a sturdy wooden panel, our Ninth Grade students meticulously shaped each delicate petal and leaf out of clay. After firing the ceramic flowers, they assembled the artwork with care, arranging and attaching them before giving the entire piece a classic matte white finish that seamlessly fits into any decor.

The 43" x 43" Blooming Quilt is a colorful reminder of the flourishing imaginations and budding talents within the 5th-grade class. Assigned a tile each, every student was provided with basic geometric coding blocks to explore and eventually craft their unique floral patterns with. These tiles were then sewn together, resulting in a one of a kind textile tapestry.
For this year's Auction, 7th-grade students worked on an art project inspired by the work of former graffiti artist Eric Reiger, known as "HOTTEA". Drawing upon Reiger's innovative use of materials, particularly oodles of colorful yarn and PVC tubing, Mr. Cameron and 7th grade students collaborated to create a striking installation called the "Ring of String."
