Gifts to the Stoddard Compassion Fund provide gas cards to patients and families who need financial assistance to travel to and from treatment. Your gift will help alleviate a little stress from the life of a cancer patient, making a big difference.

Provide massage therapy to help patients face each day with renewed energy and hope through the Charlie Cutler Healing & Wellness Program.

Your gift of $100 will provide 10 meals for a patient through the Meals That Matter program. That is 10 times a patient doesn't have to worry about what to make for dinner. They can focus on getting healthy and feeling better. You can make that possible.

"What a pleasant surprise it was to be offered a meal after I finished my treatment! The meals are delicious. Some days, the last thing you want to do after treatment is to make food so this helps out a lot. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. It is so nice of donors to provide this for us. Thank you!"

This free service impacts more than 900 patients and families each year. Together with members of the multi-disciplinary care team, specially trained oncology nurses and social workers walk alongside patients and families connecting them to resources within the Cancer Center and the community.

Most importantly, they provide education, hope and encouragement so patients can have the best quality of life possible during and after treatment.

This program is provided free of charge, not reimbursed through insurance, and depends heavily on philanthropy. Your gift, and the gifts of others, will make a huge difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death for adolescents and young adults between the ages of 15 and 35. Your gift will provide adolescents, young adults, and the care team with the resources they need to remain focused on the goals of delivering individualized care plans, increasing enrollment in clinical trials, providing access to resources, raising awareness, and as a result, improving outcomes for this population.

We know that, alongside conventional medicine, there is great power in complementary therapies that support the mind, body and spirit. The Charlie Cutler Healing & Wellness Program supports therapies that strengthen and empower cancer patients and caregivers, helping them to live every day to its fullest potential. Support provided currently allows us to offer massage therapy, music therapy, aromatherapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction for patients and their caregivers. During 2020, funds were used to help start the Meals That Matter program.

Cancer patients often experience changes in their appearance due to treatments or surgery. This can be difficult, both physically and emotionally. EMPOWER helps address this challenge by offering products and services that meet the unique needs of cancer patients.

Our partner, Dream Catcher's Foundation, along with donor support makes the following services available for patients at no cost: Head shaving, haircut, beard trimming and shaving, shampoo, blow out, skin care/make up.

Products available for purchase at low prices include: Head scarves, turbans, hats, and salon services.

The Stoddard Compassion Fund offers additional support to patients and families beyond what the Cancer Center is able to provide. Assistance is based on financial need and is designed to respond to the unique needs of those we serve and can include: Gas cards for those that travel far distances, cab fares/Uber rides, overnight accommodations, meal cards, one-time prescriptions, small medical equipment, and more.

The Compassion Fund is provided 100% by philanthropy and your gift goes directly to a patient and family in need.
