The John Nally Internship is a hands-on, paid apprenticeship that trains the next generation of gardeners. Working alongside the Director and Associate Director of Horticulture and the Wave Hill Gardeners, interns become skilled in sustainable approaches used to manage a public garden. Their rigorous duties are diverse: mulching the garden beds; digging and planting of shrubs, trees, annuals and perennials; and weeding beds and watering containers in the nursery and public display areas. The intern's curiosity and energy have become indispensable to Wave Hill's pursuit of garden excellence.

Wave Hill is Your Garden

Gardeners' Party honoring Margaret Roach
September 21, 2023

Join us for an evening to celebrate the art of gardening and to honor Margaret Roach. Margaret is a champion of Wave Hill, having served as both a member of our Board of Directors and Chair of the Friends of Horticulture Committee. Her passions are closely aligned with Wave Hill's mission-to train the new generation of high-caliber, environmentally conscientious horticulturists, and help them hone a keen plant person's palette. With her popular New York Times column and A Way to Garden podcast, Margaret provides a platform for many varied and informed voices, educating audiences from novice to nuanced expert.

We hope you will join us as we honor Margaret and her unwavering commitment to horticulture at this gourd-eous event.  By purchasing tickets or donating, you help care for Wave Hill's world-class garden and train the next generation of horticulturalists through the John Nally Intern Program. You make a big difference to Wave Hill!
