At first this piece was just another self portrait to practice with facial features and details, but it became much more. I realized I creating who I'm becoming. The fairy represents my higher self someone who I'm looking up to. When I first sketch this it wasn't clear what my intentions were I just knew the picture of me would look great with a renaissance theme. But the more I kept painting and going through things in life it just felt fitting. What I like the most about the piece and the process is it's almost like I knew what I needed to see myself as in this painting before I did. Year 20 felt like I got hit with so many eye openers & it just reminded me to start putting myself first more.

Fishing seems to be a very Zen relaxing way to find inner peace with one's self in nature. This was a small creek I photographed near the Homestead in Virginia. It seems fisherman don't care if they catch anything but love the act of fishing.
