The Valdez Museum serves as a vital community resource and gathering place where meaningful exhibits and educational programs work together to bring about an understanding of history, culture and practice.

The Valdez Museum celebrates animals and their owners and honors long-time advocate and dog lover, Shana Anderson. Known for being the Valdez Animal Control Officer for many years, Anderson remains active in the Friends of the Valdez Animal Shelter. Shana Anderson Dog Park is named after the honoree and provides a place for dogs to play and socialize. 

The Doghouse evening event will feature a sit-down dinner served family-style, entertainment and music, and a live auction.
