This lovely pair of polymer clay earrings is inspired by the local plant life around Holden.

Created by Holden Staffing Lead, Taylor Wiese, these elegant and colorful earrings will remind you of the beautiful and resilient fireweed flowers that reestablish vegetation in wildfire burn areas.

Polymer clay is a durable, lightweight material, and earrings are made with 18k gold-plating findings.

Bless This Night Embroidery and Two Booklets

This past winter, members of the long-term Holden community collaborated to create a brand new evening prayer service: Bless this Night: Vespers '23.

The service seeks to honor night and darkness as times of God's blessing and renewal in our lives. It also has themes of creation, embodiment, and justice. Bless This Night was introduced this past summer as part of the weekly Sacred Space worship rhythms in the Village.

As a special keepsake, two original Bless This Night booklets used during summer 2023 worship can be yours. The booklets are signed by the Villagers who composed the music, translated Scripture, and wrote the poetic words for Bless This Night.

Inspired by the themes of this new vespers setting and the beauty of the valley, current Villager, Jordyn Trent, embroidered this stunning scene of Buckskin and Copper mountains at night with stars and trees!

This lovely bowl was handmade in the Holden Pottery Studio by Aria Whalen who served on staff as a Seasonal Cook this past summer.

Daily Blessings as Medicine

Cole Parke-West is a Holden Kitchen alum and was a member of the summer 2023 teaching faculty.

In their work as a community organizer, Cole understands that spiritual grounding, practice, and ritual can be as essential to effective campaigns as good strategies and smart tactics.

To support friends in staying rooted in themselves and in their calling, Cole repurposes pill organizers, choosing a different customized offering for each day of the week with an associated blessing/meditation prompt to ground and guide the recipient's day.

They will craft a Holden-inspired series of daily blessings for the highest bidder and mail it to them (or the recipient of their choosing!).

Hand Carved Wooden Eating Spoon

Villager Johannes Carlsen made this spoon from a downed branch of vine maple found in the Village.

It was made following the Slojd tradition of green woodworking, without the use of power tools. The tools used were a hand saw, froe, hatchet, straight knife and hook knife. The kolrosing on the handle is in a traditional woven basket pattern and is etched with the tip of a knife, filled with coffee grounds and burnished with a smooth stone.

The spoon is sealed with a food safe combination of walnut oil and carnuba wax and is ready to eat off of!
