This stunning watercolor print vividly captures the autumn colors and changing seasons in the Railroad Creek Valley.
The scene depicts volunteers preparing Holden Village for winter by placing wooden coverings on ground-level windows to protect them from the vast snowfall, which averages 270 inches annually. Dumbbell Mountain in the background is covered in snow and suggests the beautiful changes ahead for the winter.
Artist Kristen Gilje painted many exquisite watercolors of Holden Village as artist-in-residence from 1997 to 2006. She no longer sells prints, making this piece more rare and valuable.
This print measures 15 x 20 inches and is framed 24 x 28 inches including the wooden frame.

Looking for some quietude along the Wenatchee River? Needing space to rest, practice creativity, and explore nature? Enjoy a personal retreat for up to four people at the Grunewald Guild's Riverside Cabin.
Located in a secluded corner of the Grunewald Guild's campus in Plain, WA, the Riverside Cabin's front patio overlooks the Wenatchee River. The Cabin's main floor is an open-concept design, with a queen bed, kitchen, and bathroom. There is also a loft (accessible by ladder) that contains a full-sized futon-style bed.
The Cabin is a short walk (and an even shorter drive) to Plain, where you can visit Plain Hardware (+ gift store and coffee shop), the Old Mill Cafe, and Just Plain Grocery + Gas. Lake Wenatchee is a 15-minute drive away, and Leavenworth is a 25-minute drive.
The Guild is excited to offer a 3-night stay at the Riverside Cabin. Extra nights may be added at the normal nightly rate. Reservations are subject to availability. Your retreat must occur before December 31, 2024. This auction item applies to lodging only, and does not include meals.
This retreat may be scheduled in conjunction with onsite Guild program, and the retreat-goer may register to participate in a concurrent Guild program. Program tuition is not included in this auction item. To inquire into dates, please submit an inquiry form.
