Located on an 13-acre site in the historic town of Old Lyme, Connecticut, the Florence Griswold Museum features the restored Florence Griswold House, where the artists of the Lyme Art Colony lived, a gallery of changing art exhibitions, education and landscape centers, extensive gardens, and a restored artist's studio. Visitors can stand at Childe Hassam's favorite painting spot, stroll Miss Florence's lovingly restored garden, and rest where Chadwick posed his model for the now famous, On the Piazza.

Local artist Joanne Gibson was first introduced to watercolor painting at an art workshop in Tuscany in the fall of 2021. Since then, her art has been inspired by the beautiful old doors and windows of Italy. Her 8 x 10 framed painting tries to capture a gorgeous old door that reminds her of her visit there. She has added four 5 x 7 original watercolor painting cards to this auction item. Until now, she has painted unique watercolor cards to send to family and friends. This is the first time that she is making these cards available "outside her circle". While an envelope is included so you can send each card to someone special, they are also fun to frame.
